Wiesen - Now that I've watched the latest video on youtube,I see that my original take on the situation was wrong.Your singer is wonderful and kind to everyone.Maybe I was to far away at the show. In the very back row it's hard to tell. But I still have my eyes on the singer.I love his bandana and his shoes.I hope to meet him one day.But don't worry about the police... I have my own handcuffs...

Wiesen - your vocalist is bullshit. I have seen how he treated the little boy. Didnt he see the boy was not in the mood to be on stage? I will have an eye on you - and if that happens again, police will be informed.

Hi Nick Found your band story really interesting. It's amazing what you remember. You mention playing at Southall Community Centre with Buddy Britten & The Regents. I found a date for this venue and the band in the Middlesex County Times & West Middlesex Gazette at the weekend while doing some research on the Ealing Club. The gig took place on 17 January 1965

You mention that you saw Mike Dee & The Jaywalkers at Southall Community Centre in 1961 which led to the formation of the Delta Five. A complete gig list can be found here from Brian Mansell's diary: http://www.garagehangover.com/mikedeejaywalkers/

Hi Nick, I just wonder if you would remember we used to meet up at the Millet Arms - Perivale around 1958-62 ish..We used to often sit outside and chat about all manor of things and about the Skiffle group I was with, The Streamliners and also the West-Five, and you talked about JK and the pirates. You were a very quiet lad in those days, and always cheerful. You have had such an illustrious career since I will not be offended if you don't recall those days. There were a group of us from the local youth club that all met up. I still just play an acoustic guitar for my own purposes. Cheers Buddy. Regards, Dave.

Dear Mr. Simper, I wanna ask You, if You'd send me photo with Your autograph? You are my favourite bass player all over the world. All album where were you playing are phenomenal, I love sound of Your bass guitar. Your sound is so incredible. I have all the albums on which you were playing (all originals, of course) with Deep Purple, of course. Unfortunatelly I didn't saw You alive on any shows. I'd like to have Your photo with Your sign. It would be honest for me to own photo with great bass player. Thank You for Your time and looking forward your answer. Sincerely, Pavol Gmuzdek Hviezdoslavova 469/52 905 01 Senica Slovakia

Dear Nick, I purchased 'Live At Szene, Vienna' from Amazon as mp3 download. It's GREAT but there seems to be a problem with the last two tracks. It also happened in the Amazon cloud player. Please check the source. A fan since the sixties. Lee Caragiulo NYC

The Middlesex County Times & West Middlesex Gazette has tonnes of gigs listed in its coming events section at the back and I found these for Buddy Britten & The Regents. All at the Ealing Club Wednesday, 16 September 1964 Wednesday, 23 September 1964 I also saw Delta 5 and Some Other Guys but didn't have time to jot them down. A book called The Day Before Yesterday by Steve Ingless also has a gig at The Rhodes Centre, Bishop's Stortford on 5 September 1964

Nick, you are at the same level of Glover. Why did you leave the Deep Purple ? I can understand the led voice ( Gillan is really better than Evans...) but you ? Maybe it was because your terrible clothes ? AH AH Bye

Good to hear from you again Nick...and another amusing phone conversation! I've sent my autobiographical recollections of the 1960s to Becky as promised. They include all the references to yourself although I have to admit that our memories don't always exactly coincide. I now think that it was Jon Lord who was with us on that (in)famous excursion to the little town in Bavaria. I certainly know he was in Munich with us as I shared a room with him. However, don't forget to call me about meeting up before September starts. Just name the place.

I wanted to write and tell you what class you showed in your comments about Jon Lord. You certainly have your reasons to not be so gracious. I have been a nearly fanatic fan of Jon's, most of my life but was always disappointed in how He treated you those many years ago. I met Him in 1996 after a Purple show, and He was a very nice person, but we can all be less than nice, at times. Anyways, Your words said a lot about who you are Nick. A Class Act!

Any comment about Jon Lord's passing?
